Rotary Evaporator Working Principle:

The rotary evaporator operates by rotating the evaporation flask at a constant speed while the water bath maintains a stable temperature. Under these conditions, the material forms a uniform thin film along the inner wall of the flask, allowing rapid and efficient evaporation.

Evaporation efficiency is significantly improved under vacuum conditions (requires connection to a vacuum pump). As the solvent vapor passes through the glass condenser coil, it is cooled by a circulating cooling system and condensed back into liquid form, which is then collected in the receiving flask for reuse.

To form a complete working system, this series of rotary evaporators must be equipped with:

  • Vacuum devices (circulating water, rotary vane, diaphragm, or other vacuum pumps)

  • Cooling and circulation devices for efficient condensation

Basic Configuration

  • All parts in contact with materials are made of high borosilicate glass (expansion coefficient 3.3) and PTFE, ensuring chemical stability and excellent corrosion resistance.

  • Main support frame constructed from high-strength aluminum alloy for durability and stability.

  • Sealing system utilizes a PTFE + fluororubber composite seal for reliable vacuum performance.

  • Piston-type feeding valve with a PTFE extension tube allows for continuous feeding under vacuum conditions.

  • Upright, double-layer serpentine condenser for efficient heat exchange and condensation.

  • Rotating and heating functions are controlled by a power switch with a convenient tilt-type ON/OFF button.

  • Large LCD display shows temperature and rotation speed simultaneously for easy monitoring.

  • Brushless motor ensures spark-free, low-noise, and stable operation.

  • Electronic stepless speed control with fine-tuning knob for precise adjustment.

  • Heating bath made of aluminum alloy with Teflon coating, featuring a sealed heating plate and PT100 external temperature sensor for accurate control.

  • Electric lift mechanism with manual tilt switch allows smooth and easy adjustment of the main unit height.

  • Dual fuse protection for both rotation and heating systems ensures operational safety.
